First you need to get the BIOS to recognize the hard drives and setup the RAID, 1 or O. RAID Tutorial this can be a bit tricky; on my mainboard this is done in the first BIOS screen and I have to select RAID on SATA rather than IDE RAID under hard drive options, I also have to set defaults first. (Read your mainboard manual)

He should only use the 64-bit drivers if he is installing a 64-bit OS. If he's using a standard XP Pro install, then you just want the 32-bit drivers. |

A very good point. With a 64 bit processor you would want to be installing the 64bit version of Windows XP Pro not the 32 bit version. The 32 Bit version will work, but will not take advantage of the 64bit processor and would function as a basic Athlon chip. |
