 Thread : Screen Saver fails

More Information

I installed a new Microsoft Optical Wireless desktop (keyboard and mouse). My screensaver fails to activate and the monitor does not turn off after the appropriate number of minutes. Basically, the monitor is on all the time unless I manually turn it off.

I suspect the "timer" aint timing but I don't know how to fix.
:(
I would appreciate any ideas you might have.....

Thanks

More Information

Not saying your stupid or anything, just getting info.
Is there a screensaver set in the display properties? How long to activate?
goto control panel then to energy options. In there is a timer to turn off the monitor.
Check what these are and get back.

More Information

Yes - the screen saver is activated to start in 7 minutes in Dispaly Properties and in the Power properties, I have the monitor set to turn off in 10 minutes. This all worked fine before installling the wireless keyboard and mouse. I do not have an "Energy Properties" in the conrol panel.

More Information

sorry its power options but you found it anyways.

Try uninstalling all software that came with the keyboard and mouse.
Restart and dont reinstall the software. Does the problem go away?
If not, go back to the old keyboard and mouse and see what happens.

More Information

I have this keyboard/mouse combination as well. Have you installed all the software that came with it (IntelliPoint/Type). If you haven't, you could try installing it. If you have, you could try uninstalling it?
