http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/default.mspx

I have been playing with it for about 1/2 an hour. It did crash on me once already.

I like the tabs and the ability to adjust the view sise for each individual tabs.

Looking prety good.

I'm not really that impressed with IE7 so far.

Yes, it's an improvement over IE6, but when i see built-in support for themes, ad-blocking (banner, flash adds) and Extension support (e.g. something that saves open windows for next time) like Firefox, then i'll look forward to IE7 a bit more. Tabbed browsing has been around for a long time, and Microsoft is just now catching up to the technology.

More Information

I think it's really important to stress [at microsoft] the idea of ad blocking. Right now, if i use IE, there's two HUGE google banners in the middle of the webpage.

A little off-topic, but it's sad that Google has become such a monopoly that they have to spam "Ads by goooooogle" all over the internet.

The chief technician at Micro Center (where I work as a sales associate) thinks IE7 will be better than Firefox. Well, all I can say is that assumes hackers and developers of spyware won't be inclined to try to make malware that targets IE.

IMHO after several months there will be a lot of malware that will affect IE, and Firefox will take the lead again.

No crahes yet. So far so good. You using XP or XP Pro?

More Information

I am using XP home edition.
So far I did not get any more crashes. The text resizing control at the botom right end corner is still my favorite feature (I refuse to get glases).
The novelty of the tab has worned out already, I dont think I will be using them.

So far so good.

I installed it, and then McAfee wouldn't run. So I had to get rid of it.

More Information

Should have gotten rid of McAdware instead...

;)

I had to renew my norton anti virus subsciption but decided to go for the Macfee software instead. I should have read this tread before. Macfee did not want to install untill I removed IE7 beta2. Too bad I was starting to like it.

I found a nice way to use the tab feature in IE 7:
On the THG main page I found that opening new forum treads in a new tab worked quite well and gave me instant access to the treads whenever I want to check on them.
I can't wait for the non beta version to come out.

From what I've been reading on the forumz here it would seem that IE7 is trying to do what Avant has already done withe the IE engine.

More Information

I realy don't care where they get their ideas. As long as they make it better that's all that count.

More Information

I find the initial load time slower for ie7 than ie6, which is one of the few advantages that ie has over Firefox.
We need extentions for ie also.
I dislike the interface, I like that I can make one bar at the top that holds eveything I need in Firefox even subtracting the windows chrome and status bar for maximum viewing area.
On one computer, in one of my offices, the unselected tabs in IE7 are so dark I can barely read them, thus defeating the reason of having them.
I think IE7beta has a lot of good ideas, but I am less pleased with the implimentation of those ideas.

Lets hope the final product has many improvements over the beta. At this point I see no reason to ditch FireFox.

More Information

I am considering installing IE7 on top of IE6.

Since the last entry into this was back on 2-17-06, I was wondering if I could get new feedback since then on how much they like or how much they hate IE7.

More Information

Just installed it again to try it out... it seems to be loading this site much quicker than FireFox does at work.

*Shrug*

So far, I like it. First time I installed it, it didn't work well... the installer hung at a point (probably because of my Panda IS). This time I disabled Panda before installing and it installed like a charm with no errors. Like I said earlier... I like it.

I hate titty tats.
More Information

It seems ok.
I have browsed a few sites that do not display correctly. But it's probably a site error for not conforming to W3C standards.
