For a system which will be running an E6400 (or maybe an e6420 if I wait), an 8800GTS, 2gig of ram, 2 sata HDD's, 1 DVD+-RW, a couple of extra fans, and nothing much else of interest, which PSU (they are in no particular order, and I'm not sure whether some of them are good enough/provide enough amperage):

If you think you might want to pick up ATI's R600 part then go with the Silverstone Olympia 650W as it has the correct 8 pin PCIe connector, if not then just pick whichever one you feel most comfortable with. |

Ta. Will do.
I'm not planning on going R600 any time soon, but I think a couple of others have the 8 pin PCIe connector too. I'll look into warranties.

Any particular reason that I should get the Olympia not the Liberty 620? Or the Corsair 620 for that matter? The Zippy 600 and the Antec are a bit more expensive for what you get. I'll ignore the 500 models I think, along with the Toughpower and the enhance built Zeus(personal preferences there).

Ok, I read a review by Jonnyguru; the olympia is good. So are the Liberty and the Corsair, mind you. The Zeus is very grunty but I don't like it. In terms of future safe, the Olympia is the best, but I do like the features of the other two. |
