Hey, I just compiled a list of steps to follow when setting up my computer. Any critiques? (I know the RAM can run that high).
 
Hard Drive Configuration:
Configure a RAID0 Stripe with a 16kb width.
 
Internet Connection Setup:
Connect both ethernet cables and bridge the connection.
 
Drivers and Updates:
Install ASUS drivers.
Install AMD drivers.
Install ATi drivers.
Install Razer Drivers.
Install Windows Updates.
Install ASUS updates.
Install AMD updates.
Install ATi updates.
Install Razer updates.
 
Services and Profiles:
Set power usage to "Always On".
Turn off the paging service.
Turn off Screen Savers.
Save the default hardware profile as "Normal".
Create a new hardware profile with all unneeded services disabled and save it as "Gaming".
 
Peripheral Profiles and Configuration:
Configure a keyboard profile for "Normal".
Configure a keyboard profile for each specific game.
Configure a mouse profile for "Normal".
Configure a mouse profile for "Gaming".
Configure a mouse profile for "Precision".
Configure any other user settings and preferences.
 
System Check:
Run a system check in priority 10 on Prime95.
 
Productivity Software:
Install Microsoft Office 2007.
Install Windows Updates.
 
System Check:
Run a system check in priority 10 on Prime95.
Run memtest86+.
Run PCMark06.
Run 3DMark06.
Select all the tests for use. Now click on the ‘Change’ button in the options section, and click the ‘looping’ box. Next press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and go to the Task Manager. Right-Click on 3DMark06 in the ‘applications’ tray, and select Go To Process. Right click on the process you are taken to, and select Set Priority. Set the Priority to Realtime.
Run CPU-Z and save results.
 
BIOS Setup and Profiles:
Shut down and boot into BIOS.
Save a profile for "Normal".
Save a profile for "Gaming".
Lock the PCI-E speeds to 33 and 100.
Turn off "Cool and Quiet".
Run all fans at 100%.
 
Processor Overclocking:
Begin to overclock the processor.
Save settings to Gaming profile and boot into windows every 5MHz.
Run a system check in priority 10 on Prime95.
Repeat CPU stepping until the speed reaches 2.7GHz.
Run a torture test in priority 10 on Prime95 for an hour.
Repeat CPU stepping until the speed reaches 2.8GHz.
 
Processor Stability Check:
Run a torture test in priority 10 on Prime95 for 24 hours.
Run CPU-Z and save results.
 
Memory Overclock:
Begin to overclock the memory.
Save settings to Gaming profile and boot into windows every 5MHz.
Run a system check in priority 10 on Prime95.
Repeat memory stepping until the speed reaches 940MHz.
 
Memory Stability Check:
Run memtest86+ for 24 hours.
Run CPU-Z and save results
 
Graphics Card Overclocking and Profiles:
Create a hardware profile for ATi X1950 XT VGA as "Normal".
Create a hardware profile for ATi X1950 XT VGA as "Gaming".
Find max clock for X1950 XT using ATi Tools.
Save the clock to the "Gaming" profile.
 
Graphics Card Stability Check:
Run 3DMark06 for four hours.
Select all the tests for use. Now click on the ‘Change’ button in the options section, and click the ‘looping’ box. Next press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and go to the Task Manager. Right-Click on 3DMark06 in the ‘applications’ tray, and select Go To Process. Right click on the process you are taken to, and select Set Priority. Set the priority to Realtime.
Run CPU-Z and save results
 
Other Software:
Install games.
 
Personal Configurations:
Configure the desktop and Start Menu.
 
Final Cleanup:
Execute a Disk Cleanup.
Execute RegSupreme.
Execute Disk Defragmenter.
 
Final System Stability Check:
Run a torture test in priority 10 on Prime95 for 24 hours.
