I've a trenton PC card with USB mouse/keyboard which was delivered with
Windows 2000 on it. However it failed to boot after a power failure so I
tried to re-load the system with the Windows 2000 distribution disk (SP4).

I selected to repair as there was lots of software loaded and it went fine
unto after the reboot it reported it couldn't find ialmnt5.sys (intel extreme
graphics driver) and put up a dialog box to enable you to browse for it. But
just before the dialog box was displayed it seemed to disable the mouse and
keyboard so there is no way of getting it to look in an alternative location.

Help!

Try booting into safe mode, with network support.
The driver is probably obtainable either from a drivers cd supplied with
your sys or mobo/pc web site
