I have bought all the following components for my first time build and would like to know what you considered the best choice of 2Gb kit memory.

Your video card will be the largest determining factor in your gaming graphics quality. But, 2gb of memory will help in smoothness and overall system performance. Any of the memory you listed sounds great. If you don't intend to OC there is no real need to buy any memory faster than DDR533. However, this memory often costs about the same as DDR800. I would personally suggest a PC6400 kit (DDR800) as it will typically be made with a better IC than a comparable DDR533 kit. You will then be able to run good latencies at slower speeds and also scale up well in speed. |

Just to add to this, I've been skimming the net again and have been looking at the OCZ models. Came upon 2Gb pc2-6400 Gold Rev.2 in Cas4 so I was wondering if you had any opinions on this model and how it compares to the others.

OCZ 6400 compared to which 5400? OCZ's modules are so highly overclocked you often can't do much more with them. You could probably get some other brand of 5400 CAS4 to run at CAS3.

Not just yet but quite possibly in the not too distant future. |
