next version of iTunes to support PODCASTING NATIVELY:

 and what about Microsoft? Microsoft should embed native support for
podcasting in Windows Media Player and in ActiveSync as soon as possible or
again Apple (maker of iTunes music store and of iPod MP3 players) will take
away market share from Microsoft.
 
It is URGENT! By now Micorsoft has proven that innovation is something that
is penalized, not rewarded in this corporation,  but I think it is time to
change it: open source software, Linux and open interfaces may ruine
business models of Microsoft and Microsoft will sink.
 
Do this tiny step: embed podcasting in Windows Media Player and in
ActiveSync as soon as possible.

That's about all it would take! There are a few C# RSS readers that can  
handle RSS and podcast feeds that could easily be adapted to the Pocket PC.  
I don't think it requires a change to media player at all since "podcasting"  
is just a different way(HTTP+XML vs. HTTP+HTML)  to get the location of the  
audio/video stream to play.
