Ok, I'm pretty new to working with win2k, as far as running it as my primary OS tweaking it etc... Heres the problems I am having...

1.) Via 4-in-1 4.32 driver setup program reports: "This program requires a different version of Windows than is currently installed", my best guess is it was only designed to run on Win9x. However there does not seem to be a Win2k only version of this... So...??!?!?!?

2.) 4-in-1 AGP Drivers do not install in turbo mode. (ie I get only 1500 3DMarks in 3dm2001, and horrid fps in games). This is very contrary to my Win98se (4000+ 3dm2001).

3.) WincpuID does not show me the working AGP mode, ie, 1x,2x,4x... It will show me what modes are possible but under the command section it says disabled... and nothing shows up as far as the usual ENABLED, (4x) etc... This is a real problem for troubleshooting my agp driver situation.

I've tried running that registry tweak to enable the 4x but no avail... =(

System Specs:
MainBoard: IWILL KK266 (current BIOS revison)
CPU: Athlon 1.33ghz (266fsb)
RAM: Corsair PC150 256MB cas2
Video Card: LeadTek winfast Geforce2 GTS 64MB
NIC: Linksys Network Everywhere PCI 10/100 (Rev NC100v2)
Sound: SB-Live Value

Software:
OS: Windows 2000 Pro with SP2, IE 5.5 SP2, newest criticals

Drivers:
VIA 4-in-1 4.32 (Win2k IDE Driver = Known Working)
nVidia: Detonator 12.41 Win2k(LOW Performance)
Linksys NC100v2 Win2k Drivers for my NIC(working fine)
Retail: Sb-Live Drivers (working fine)

Any help would be most appreciated as I am growing very tired of these problems... If your going to tell me to dual boot don't bother responding as I would really like just one or the other on my system...

I've been posting all day over at www.viahardware.com, and it seems that I'm not worthy enough of a response so I really need some help here!!!

Thank you.

1) Whoa! Something else is amiss. The 4.32 works under win98/2k for me, on a a7v133.
2) Turbo mode is subjective. Under win89, the 4n1 make all the registry entries necessary for sideband/4x/fastwrites. I'm not sure why it doesn't do it auto under win2k, but I usually use GTU3.02 for that purpose. Check out http://www.guru3d.com
3)Ummmmm. I'm not sure about wincpuid. I use something else.

just came across the install guide note on the VIA website and was reading your post at the same time.
the following section is copied from the VIA driver install guide:

Special Note:(For WinFast VGA AGP users only)
WinFast AGP VGA drivers is bundled with VIA VGA VxD. For users who use
WinFast AGP VGA, we suggest you to download the driver from WinFast Web site.
If you do not have access to Internet, we suggest that you install WinFast
driver before install VIA AGP VxD Driver.

this might help since you both have WinFast cards.

respect!
