PHM Registry Editor... You find it at http://www.phm.lu/products. Very good

Usual disclaimer applies: make sure you have a backup before updating,
deleting or adding information in the registry!

I would also recommend the PHM Registry Editor for a free editor, but if you
need something more powerful than this, take a look at Resco Registry
Editor, this one isn't free, but it does allow you to import and export
parts of the registry. It is part of Resco Explorer 2003. See;

I'll third the motion on PHM. Works great and at free is a great price.

You can also look at Resco's Explorer 2005 as it has a registry editor in it
as well. It is primarily a file explorer replacement but has a reg edit and
ftp app included.

Cheers,

PHM Registry Editor is not listed in Add/Remove programs using the
ActiveSync install.
Do I have to install using a cab file?
Is yes, how do I do that?

It depends on what version you have downloaded. There is cab file and
Windows installer. The cab file must be copied to your PDA and run from
there. The Windows installer must be run on your computer.

I downloaded CabInstl by SK
http://www.geocities.com/s_k_s_k_s_kru/util.html
as suggested on Beverly Howard's site.
http://www.bevhoward.com/bhhpj.htm#Cabs

The install using ActiveSync wouldn't work.

Hmm The newest version is at 1.03,and is in a file called cabinstl.zip, you
would download this file to your PC, and unzip it. When you have unzipped it
on your PC you will find three files cabinstl_de.exe, cabinstl_en.exe, and
cabinstl_ru.exe. For German, English, and Russian languages. Pick the file
you want (most likely cabinstl_en.exe) and copy it to your device. (You can
right click on the file and use send to...) or you can used copy and paste
to move the file to your PocketPC.

Once you have it on your PC, you will need to run it once, and exit it
telling it to associate itself with cab files, and not to delete cab files.
Then clicking on a cab file on your PocketPC should cause cabinstl to open.
