Greetings to all,

I am really suffering from a severe problem with my OS wndows 2000 Prof with
SP4 and MS Office 2000.

Untimely it gives error "Svchost.exe has generated error. You will have to
restart the programme. Error log has been created." After that error in my
network places i cant find any of my client PC's. Secound thing my Excel and
word crashes. In excel it gives error something object embedding and it
doesnt start excel and in word also it gives some error like document is not
link...and word also doesnt start.

I have installed AVG antivirus and its up-to-date. It had find some blaster
virus and some trojan. Have also download blaster patches from microsoft.com
and symantec.com. I have manually seen the registry entries and had not found
any suspicious running process. I regularly scan my computer and now there is
no virus at all. I have also checked with Norton and Mcafee antivirus. They
have not found any virus.

But then too, sometimes i get error SVCHOST...and my excell and word does
not respond. If i restart my computer it works for few mins..but then again
suddenly it pops up.

One more thing, I have also format my machine once. Know this is the last
thing which i have tried...but then too the problem persist.

One more thing i forgot to mention...I dont have internet connection on that
network at all. I have to download patch somewhere else and have to take it
on CD.

1) Can anyone please tell me what can be the possible reason of this.
2) The solution
3) Is there any one point where i can download all the latest patches of
Windows 2000 onto my hard disk.
