I'm trying to set up Azurius but this is an area of pc's that I'm a little inept at. I know that I need to set up a static IP address...but apparantly I don't know how. My system specs follow...any ideas? It's been a while sine I've attempted to download through bit torrent. I finally installed Azureus after a friend suggested it. While I'm setting it up it wants to test the "incoming TCP Listen Port" which it has set to: 54854. when I test it I get a message that says: "Testing port 54854 ... NAT Error" Where do I find other ports to test? I've checked:

To set up a static IP address first look at your router settings and note which IP address range and subnet mask it is using - also look at the DHCP settings on the router because you need to set an IP address that is outside the DHCP range eg

Static addresses are really not your issue, it sounds like the port is blocked. |

Are you paying for a Static IP? Most are dynamic unless you are a business or something that can pay for one. You can't just generate one with hardware, you ISP has to sell it to you. |

I'm pretty sure he means internally, so your comment would be irrelivant, hawkstar has it down perfectly, do what he says. You will probably still need to open the ports, but that's easy, let us know what router you have or is the modem a router too? |
