 Thread : Wich 8800 GTS?

More Information

8800 GTX costs 650$, 8800 GTS costs 450$.. the choice is obvious.

The question is, wich company to buy from.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] ategory=48
So can anyone tell me what the difference is beetween them? I know they are minimal, and things like warranty dont matter to me, but i still want ur opinion.

Chris.

P.S. Can u buy an X1900 CrossFire Master Card, and run it alone?

Not really. Depends on your budget.

Chris.

I'd go for the cheapest.

yes.

Cheapest, right.. thats what id say.
But is there anything special that one company gives over another?
Are they all just the same, do they just give the exact same products, features and bonuses? Im talking abt stuff like eVGA's "step-up" program, except.. not so useless.

8800 GTX costs 650$ and 8800 GTS costs 450$. The choice SHOULD be obvious. Youre not going to get 45% more performance with the 8800 GTX over the 8800 GTS. (Although according to recent benchmarks i have no idea what ur going to get - they all suck).

The XFX for $424, here.

Some are willing to pay the extra for THE top of the line, so to me it's not THAT obvious, especially when you don't include your budget.

I'm not sure what you mean by the benchmarks sucking. All the bechmarks for those cards seem pretty darn impressive. Are you referring to the results, or to those that are giving the results?

I guess my budget is 600$, but i need a new 50$ PSU, a DVD burner and aftermarket fans for my CPU and GPU aswell. This will probably come to more than 600$, but ill deal with that later.

Benchmarks sucking.. refer to my other post "whats wrong with 8800 GTS benchmarks".

Also there's been 10+ thread about this subject, ead them and just ask question in those thread instead of spawning new thread

More Information

Good point labbbbby, by the way as I mentioned in another thread the XFX is back at $499 at Dell. Bummer.

More Information
