Isn't this the same source that claimed that AMD was having issues with it's 65nm process, as well.

I'll believe it when it is actually released, not because of the Inquirer. They just have too many conflicting reports about the same process.

More Information

yeah the INQ reversed themselves pretty quick

now they are saying that AMD has 65um chips done back in june....

i think the INQ has some good sources and some really bad BS sources....

sometimes they get it right

sometime they are flat wrong

More Information

What i found most interesting is that AMD has a 45um prototype already

More Information

Yeah, I take what the Inquirer writes with more than a few grains of salt.

I usually will hold off any comment about any process, until either an engineering sample is shown working (not a static picture) or when the actual product is released. With an ES, you can at least know for sure that there is a viable, working product in production.

Until then, it's all just rumor and speculation.

More Information

Not really news. Noone has even a 65nm ES, therefore I don't really care that they're 'on track' for 45nm, 22nm etc...

Perhaps the Inq is trying to create some hype a-la Core 2? But without an ES pretty much only BM and a few other fanboys are getting excited.

a respectable link please????????

I am not an inquirer supporter,at all.most of their articles are crud.
as far as i know amd has only produced a dram test wafer at 45nm,and that was months ago;so it could be true, but if this report could be substantiated ,xbit ,anand, and toms would substantiate it.

i dont doubt that 65nm from amd is slated for "as early as possible ",in the face of core2;and amd's silence is a great suspense builder.
they wont leak any news they cant back up.and when 65 is near all the enthusiast sites will be going crazy .

65um? this reminds me of a homework I did in college once, I set the gate length to 18m instead of 18um, that was funny.

Are you harboring some kinds of deep feelings for me or something?

Keep my name out of your mouth. I don't get excited by CPU news, only interested.
