ok this problem im having has been driving me nuts since day 1 of fixing this computer i built a while ago. The setup consists of the following..

Intel D850GB MB
423pin 1.7 p4 chip
4 sticks of rambus memory (cant recall the capacities)
and a leadtek A280 ultra AGP card with 128megs on it

Originally I thought the motherboard was fried so I replaced it with the same type brand new.. No matter what I did the board will not post at all

Picked up a brand new 1.7 boxed chip with new heatsink and everything.. still wont post.

Tried another power supply

Tried another graphics card.

Tried different configurations of ram

Unpluged every pci card and all power connections from the drives except the agp card because I have no onboard video.

Nothing I do gets this thing going at all. I now have 3 of the same exact board and 2 chips and nothing has worked.. im completely stumped at what could be the issue.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow. Umm, is your motherboard being grounded at all??

The first thing that I would point to is RAM.....either bad sticks or bad DIMM slot. Maybe even the paticular type you have isnt compatible?

Give us a few more details...but the way you put it right now sounds even a little confusing to me.

board was checked to see if it was grounding nope. I even pulled it out of the chassis just to make sure and same thing.. as for the bad sticks.. Ive tried running with just 2 and swapping to my other 2 and still nothing. I highly doubt all 4 sticks will go bad at once.

Also if in fact it was bad slots....on 3 of the same exact board? highly unlikely. I know for a fact the memory is compatiable because it worked in the same exact board for a very long time.

It has me extremely confused I've tried everything I see possiable. Im not new to building computers and I have never experianced anything like this.

you mentioned rdramm(rambus), you have to have all slots filled, either with rimms or c-rimms(continuety rimms)
