Sorry this is OT but this group has a good reputation for advice and I have
read a lot of helpful things for my Casio PPC.
Looking for a bit of advice since Kingston have not replied to my email.
I have an SD card that a friend borrowed for his digital camera. Since
getting it back my card reader does not recognise it and my camcorder
reports a "card error". Any advice?

Ian,

Have you attempted to reformat the card (via a card reader) on your PC? It
could be that your friends digicam reformatted the drive to make it
compatible with its particular file system.

If you reformat it, use FAT or FAT32.

Ask if he formatted the card for use in his device. It may be in a format
your device can't understand. Try a reformat anyway.

Its gonna have to be reformatted, My wife and I frequently swap SD cards
around from our PPC, Digicam, PC reader, notebook, and MP3 player. every now
and then one device won't read another's files and I have to copy them all
to the pc and then reformat the card. I can at that time copy the files
back on to transfer them to another device (camera to ppc or mp3)

I have tried to format it using my pc but cannot access the card reader when
this card is installed. I was able to format it on my camcorder but it
still returns a "Card Error" message when I try to record onto it. I have
checked the properties for the card and it is coming up with:-
Type: Removable Disk
File System: RAW
Used space: 0 bytes
Free space: 0 bytes
It is a 128mb card and took approx 10 minutes to format it in the camcorder.
Accessing it through the card reader is very slow and I have been unable to
access the "Format" option on the right click menu.
