It has been suggested that I should not post on the newsgroups/web forums
using my real email
address. Because the spam robots harvest addresses from there, and my
mailbox will start
filling up with spam and virus attachments.
Could someone tell me how I can get around using my real email address.
Thanks

Depending what email browser you use, it may
be in / Tools / Accounts / [msnews] / Properties / General / Email.
You can type anything you like so long as it has one @ character.

No @ necessary nor required. If left out a warning is presented > No Valid
Address, Use Anyway ---> Yes / No <, selecting Yes saves the addy without the @
and is used.

Since you are posting with OE6, I assume that you have created a newsgroup
account. If so, click on tools, accounts, highlight the news account, click
properties and change the email address there to something like:
gdubs@nowhere.net

that other email clients might not like it.
