I would recomend OCZ Modstream 520watt easy to install and no messy wires around your case use what you need also peak power is a steady 620watts.There are also Antec, Seasonic or Thermaltake Purepower 520watt. |

PC Power & Cooling or Zippy is probably the best, but the former is not that quiet. I don't know about the noise levels of Zippys. Seasonic may be the quietest major brand.

Again, why do you want active power factor correction? It doesn't save electricity but only reduces peak AC amp draw, that is, reduce the volt * amp (VA) requirement. In North America, this is relevant to only 2 groups: a) industrial electric customers who are billed for reactive power as well as real power, and b) people who operate their computers from backup or UPS units, which must be able to meet the peak amp draw to the computer system. While PFC reduces peak amp draw, it doesn't change average amp draw; only higher efficiency or lower power consumption do. |

It is a good alrounder great with games i had many problems. I started off with Asus Nvidia 6200 but i think it was the bottleneck for the rest of the pc. So i changed to x1900xt so you can play games now with all that good lighting on and the res up. Still having problems with drivers.

I've still got 2 enermax's, I had one 350watt fail within a few months and I couldn't get them to rma it, but I would still recommend them. I used to use them for all of my customer builds and out of probably 100 builds with them, not one failed. |

michaelahess--this is slightly off thread topic (though after much reading decided Seasonic and Silverstone 600w get my vote)--a noob q: ive got all the parts sitting on the floor getting ready to deliver them to corner computer shop to build. silverstone TJ07 case arrives monday. power supply sits on bottom rear of this case. after lots of reading (my only expertise) decided the silverstone 600w PS best, BUT, then, after much praise of the seasonic S12s(especially on Silent PC Review), ordered a seasonic S12 from newegg, which i have. now, buyer's remorse. fearing the MB cable of the Seasonic that will attach to the a8n 32 deluxe MB northbridge (normal orientation MB in the TJ07), will fail to reach all the way up this big case. do u have any feel whether my concern on seasonic cable length is warranted, in which event ill exchange the seasonic for my original plan, the silverstone. |

Man, if you've got the parts put them together! I had my wife build one without any input from me and it actually worked, and she'd never seen the inside of one before (at least that she paid attention to!)

Yeah, I suppose it was a fluke, she's probably absorbed so much of my talking about this stuff that she subconciously knew what to do |
