Anybody knows how I can identify the version of Windows 95 I have just by
searching in the files of the installation CD?

I don't have the part numbers for other than OEM versions.
I don't believe they were as organized with part numbers for non-OEM
versions.

If you determine the OEM versions by their part numbers, then the rest
are Original or SP1 and you can tell those by the dates.
Windows 95 retail, OEM 4.00.950 7/11/95
Windows 95 retail SP1 4.00.950A 7/11/95-12/31/95


OEM versions:
0196 Part no. 000-37080 US OSR1 (sometimes OSR2, Gateway)

But I was mentioning a verification within the files of the CD... like, a
certain file having a kind of ID inside.... Ah, by the way, I dont have my
Win 95 installed anymore, just have the CD stored here...

But I gave you an answer for the CD, not for an installation.

The first thing you do is look at the CD and see if it has the part
numbers I gave you.
If it is not OEM, then you look at the dates in the CD.

OK. You have a strange copy or the readme.txt date has been modified.
OSR2 should be August 24, 1996.

Note that dates of files on the CD may be meaningless, depending on how your
copy was created. You may have to extract files from within the CABS, where
the file dates aren't likely to have been altered.

Thanks for the support! Actually it was August, 96... It didnt mention the
day, my mistake. And the creation date of the file is exactly what you said,
August 24th.
