Domain tasting might sound like a leisurely Sunday afternoon activity, but ICANN isn’t amused, and it has just proposed a crackdown plan that could make "tasting" and "front running" of domains an unprofitable activity. Under current ICANN rules, anyon

I have a domain set up here at home with a webserver. I have a friend who
needs access to a webserver for one of his classes, and I have offered him a
sub-domain to help him out. I would prefer to allow him to map the folder I
set up for him, but I am unsure the best approach to do this. My question
is will setting him up as a user in the domain automatically allow him to
access/map drives on the server or will I need to setup a VPN? My best
guess is that I will need to use VPN, but I have not had the opportunity to
work with VPN yet, so I am unsure how to correctly set it up. Any ideas or
pointers would be greatly appreciated!
I realize that FTP is a good solution, but he asked if I could make it
possible to work on the files directly on the server to avoid having to
constantly upload his files with every change he makes. I've been there as
I am sure many of you have been also, and would like to help him out with
this.
The only other info I can think of you may require is that I have a PDC and
a BDC, both of which run IIS and have static IPs.
He currently uses Winscp to work on his files at school. I looked at server
software for it but it looks like a lot of work to get it to run.
Thanks much in advance for any help/advice you can give me!

Hi ScareCrowe,
Thanks for posting here!
Based on your description, a VPN server is needed in this scenario.
I am not sure if your domain is build with Windows NT or Windows 2000/2003.
If there is a Windows 2000/2003 machine, you may refer to the following
article to build it:

Windows

If anything is unclear about it, please feel free to let me know.
Hope it helps!
