Cheers, Tom.

Still get the repeated "3 additional protections possible", but the overall
total is down 2. When this happened last year it took them months to correct
it.........so I find it very depressing that it's started again.

A question about the update process.

I've got SS&D set to look for updates every time it starts.  It does the "search
for updates" thing on every start, but then (whether it finds updates or not)
goes directly to the main menu, with the "Check for Problems," "Recovery" and
"Search for Updates" buttons.  What I'd really like it to do is, if there are
updates, go to the download screen.  Even always starting at the download
screen, even if there were no updates, would be good.

Have I missed a setting somewhere which would do this?

Hi, Shane,

This update didn't fix the immunize issue on WinME.  I took a look at
the Spybot forum and didn't see any information offered on a fix.  I'm
curious to hear what Dapper Dan has to say from the earlier thread about
a change in the settings that might correct this.

Bill,

I don't believe so.  It seems to be the way it functions at present.

Seems to be an issue with Me.........the update works fine on the XP box.
What I have noticed is that the download speeds are really, painfully, slow.
I have tried EON Australia and See-Cure Europe, so far.........the Aussie
site used to zip right through.  I guess there are a lot of folks dl'ding.
Heirloom, old and watched 2 hours of the
Eagles tonight........cool.

Thanks.  I'm pleased that I didn't just miss some obvious switch.

It was a false alarm Tom. The supposed fix did not work. See my
response to Shane in the previous thread.

Hi, Dan,

I saw your response about unchecking the items in the ignore list.  I
had done that right after installing Spybot 1.4, and it didn't affect
what was occurring with the 3 immunization items.  I'm sure it'll get
sorted out eventually.

Thanks,
Tom

What hadn't occurred to me (as one who routinely upgrades a previous
installation rather than uninstall it), and that Dan's post prompted me to
check, is the wisdom of checking one's Ignore Product settings after
updates, as "Deselect All" is not retained as a user preference!

That was probably naive of me to assume otherwise.
