I will be building a pc finally after wanting to for years. Does anyone
have any suggestions or notice any compatibility issues in the following
setup?? I'm not a gamer, however would rather spend a little now, than have
to upgrade 6 months down the line, and also have room for upgrading when the
need arises. I will shop around for the listed hardware for best prices
before i start buying, this is just an idea of what I'm shooting for. Or if
you have any better ideas for close to the same cashola, please advise.

You may want to rethink this part. DDR2 ?

you could get a sempron 3100 or athlon 64 xp 2800+ for less and almost
similar perf to the athlon xp3200 (which the last I checked didn't get too
many good reviews). Also with sempron or athlon 64, you could get a socket
754 motherboard which has more upgrade capabilities than the Socket A
motherboard. Use the money you save to get a better video card

64's wondering if they would be my best route.. still not sure which ones

You're specifying DDR2 memory, which I don't think works with that board and
the video card you mention is PCI express, which that board doesn't have,
you need an AGP video card.
As to the DVD burner, nothing wrong with the LaCie, but you could probably
get an NEC 3520 cheaper.
