Just a note to let the Cox HSI customers know about a new service from Cox High Speed Internet
(HSI). You can now access the Cox HSI network via a dialup modem on your PocketPC in order to check
email, surf the web, etc... See this DSL Reports forum for the thread about this...

There is a one time $9.95 charge to your monthly bill, which is dependent on the level of your
current service and is waved for the Premier level, then you get five hours of free access via a
dialup link and a nationwide 1-800 access number. If you exceed the 5 hour limit, then you can
purchase additional blocks of time.

The number of included hours depends on your CHSI package...

* Premier: no activation fee, 20 hours of usage per month, $4.95 for bucket of 5 additional hours
* Preferred: $9.95 activation fee, 5 hours of usage per month, $7.45 for bucket of 5 additional
hours
*Value: $9.95 activation fee, no included hours of usage, $7.45 for bucket of 5 additional hours

Here is the link in case your interested...

Go to the page then at the top select "Manage My Account -> Remote Dial Access" for details, etc...

I can verify that the Cox Remote Dialup Access service works to the Cox HSI network from an iPAQ
5555 PocketPC using a Targus V.90 56K modem (CF card form factor). I was able to logon the network,
check my email, surf the web and access my home PC (an XP Pro box) using the built-in Terminal
Services Client and XP Remote Desktop through my Buffalo WBR-G54 wireless access point/broadband
router.

This a big step forward and a great service particularly if your traveling and do not have access to
a wired Ethernet or wireless network.
