Hello,

I am going to be in the market for an LCD flat screen monitor. I am looking
for 17 inch unit and would like to know what to look out when purchasing a
unit.

I have heard that I should watch out for dead pixels and to buy from a
manufacturer that has a 3 year warranty attached to it.

I have no idea who would be a good online retailer to select from. Anyone
have any good recommendations from your own experience?

Try http://www.techonweb.com/default.aspx A year ago I bought a monitor
from them, a 17" NEC LCD. At that time it was the best price (after shopping
through dozens of places). No dead pixels and still working fine. It also
has a 3 year warranty.

I bought a Samsung 19" model 193T. It is awesome! Go for a 19" display,
you won't regret it. I bought it from NewEgg.com and saved about $150.00
over purchasing at Circuit City.
