CPU Upgrade for Socket 7 M/B

I have an old PC running Windows XP with a socket 7 board and an AMD K6 chip
running at 500 MHz with 320 MB of RAM. I had expected it to have run XP
reasonably well. Unfortunately it is intolerably slow. I would like to
replace the CPU with something faster without replacing the motherboard.
This board supports a maximum front side bus of 100 MHz. I am prepared to
buy a CPU on eBay.
Can anyone advise if there is anything faster that will fit this board?

personal opinion
Todays Systems are much faster and you might be surprised at the price compared
to what you paid so many years ago.
Go look at some websites and try to put together a basic system say based on an
AMD Athlon XP processor...its not state of the art which makes them a good buy
at this point in time.
