Hello!

Some time this weekend, I started getting a BSOD on a reboot. My WinXP
Pro notebook would boot to the C-A-Del screen and if I don't log in
immediately (if I wait 2 minutes), I get a "pagefault in non-paged area"
BSOD. If I log in immediately (as soon as the dialog pops up) then this
error does not occur, but it takes a moment for my network access to
kick in.

This is the eventlog listing:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Save Dump
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x10000050 (0xe1dcc58e, 0x00000000, 0xbf8f513c, 0x00000001). A dump
was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini080104-07.dmp.


I tried narrowing down the problem, and it *seems* that if I don't boot
with my network cable plugged in, this error does not occur. This bugs
me, however, because my network works fine once I'm signed in.

After googling this, I removed and recreated my paging file with a
custom size (2GB), but the problem persists.


Another problem that is plaguing me is this entry in the event log:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Disk
Event Category: None
Event ID: 51
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging
operation.


I'm not sure if this relates to my BSOD, but I thought I'd mention it
just in case. Is this a sign of a fault drive? If so, are there any
good diagnostic tools available? (It's a Fujitsu drive)

Other info: I'm logging into a W2K Server and have synchronization
enabled ("my documents" is being stored on the server). Other
workstations here are not having problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
