I'm going to be upgrading but I'm wondering if I should use my old
Audigy soundcard or the on board sound? Is the built in sound just as
good?

I just finished disabling my Soundstorm in favour of an Audigy 2 ZS. I am
happier with the quality of sound I have now...with my digital speakers(2.1)
the sound was great..but when I had to use the analogue connectors for my
new 5.1's I had a lot of distortion.

I guess I forgot to put in that it's the original Audigy, not the 2 or
the new one. I'm using Logitech z560 speakers. This is my home theater
and stereo as well as gaming system. So sound clarity is important, I
guess I could always put the card in and swap between the 2 to check
the sound out. Just wondered if anyone had a info on which sounds
better.

Thanks
Scott

I tried the onboard sound and went back to using my Audigy(first one).
To me it sounds a lot better and anyway, I don't need all the"gimmics".

There is no substitute for your own ears. :)

I have a SonicFury (aka Turtle Beach Santa Cruz) sound card, but prefer the
Soundstorm ( on rev 1.04 board).
