I never got much response to that question. As it is
I don't need an up to date version. It looks like many
of the features of the Movie Edit Pro are in the Video
Deluxe 2.0 Plus. If you froogle on "Magix Video Deluxe
2.0 Plus" you can find it for less that $15 US. (I have
seen it for $9.95) You could try that out and if you like
it, but want the new features, you could use an upgrade
discount. It might be that the 2.0 plus has all the features
you need.

Buy it, you won't regret it. I've used Magix Edit Pro 2004 and 2005.
Obviously I wouldn't have bought the second if I wasn't satisfied with the
first. For the price offered it is amazing what it can do. In two years of
use I failed to think of something I wanted to achieve on video that I

As an after thought I want to add that I have recently bought a Premiere Pro
package. This costs more than ten times the cost of MEP. Why did I buy
PPro?. Probably because as I'm moving into semi-pro work it seemed the thing
to do. Yes I do still have MEP on my hard drive, and yes I still use it.

I'll second that. I tried the other programs from Ulead, Pinnacle, Adobe,
and Sony. Sony Vegas is good, but expensive, whereas Movie Edit Pro 2005 is
dirt cheap and supremely easy to use whilst being incredibly powerful.

There are 16 tracks to play with, hundreds of special effects, Green/Blue
screen etc. I would class it as semi-pro. I've used it to create a training
film, and it didn't let me down.

Actually, I did buy it. The only thing to pay attention to is where you
put your videos when recording. On
a couple of occasions I failed to watch where I was placing the imported
files and overwrote a previous
video. When you bring up the window for recording analog video you'll see
(at least I did) the previous
sessions directory and filename, Bad MEP, Bad........but still a lot to play
with for the money. I've already
advised two others at work to look into it.
At least I can import mp3's/wavs into my videos unlike Studio. I still
have Studio 8, don't know if this
is still the case with Studio9. When I go to the Studio forum and see that
there's no resolution (except for
their SmartSound product) that's where I go shopping elsewhere. Studio is
very good for a beginners
product though.
