I have a 5550 and wi-fi and can play desktop mp3 files one at a time by
clicking on an mp3 in Resco File Explorer.

Am I correct that it is impossible to setup a playlist with PocketMVP or
WMP so that I can play these same mp3 from a playlist?

The first item in the menu of WMP is Playlist. Just go there and add as many
files as you want.

not what he was asking. He wants a playlist of files on a network share,
which WMP can not see.

I do remember a thread from some time ago, about doing just that. It seems
that if you open any existing playlist in pocket word (or a text editor) you
can manually add and change the path of the files in the playlist. Sorry, I
don't have the particulars, maybe a google search of this groups archives.
If I remember correctly it does work, but is rather involved.

Seems strange that a network shared file double clicked in Resco will
run in any media player but I cannot put multiple file links into a
playlist.

I have all these wonderful MP3 on my desktop but I do not have a USB2
reader to quickly get them inot my iPAQ
