I had same problem screen kept saying 'no signal' after windows logo on startup, it happened when i took the monitor lead out to use on another pc.

I had the same problem, unplugging the monitor from power overnight fixed it. I read it has to do with the EDID information in the monitor becoming corrupted somehow. The video card polls the monitor for this information, gets corrupt data back and doesn't know how to format the signal DVI for the monitor, so it falls back on an analog signal instead. You can tell this is the case because the monitor gets a signal right up until the video card drivers are loaded just after the Windows splash screen appears, and that's when the signal disappears.

i concur with copasetic. i had a monitor connected via DVI to a ATI Radeon X600 PCI video card, and after two days of trying every to diagnose a non-existent driver issue, what fixed the problem was unplugging the monitor for 5 minutes. |
