my I-700 recently started to download email on its own. I will have it set
to vibrate and then it will notify me that

I have new email messages and I never even connected to check my email? How
could it do this? It has done this a few

times now.

When you put it in the cradle connected to the PC with internet connection
then InBox will download the mail by itself.

I haven't put it in the cradle for over a week and this is happening while

Scary, mine did the same thing, and it wasn't in the cradle. I did have the
email set up to retrieve email from a POP server but I did not have it set
up to be automatic.

It is now.

Is there even an option to have it do this automatically? Isn't this what is
called "Push" email meaning that email is delivered to your inbox as it is
sent?

When one of these "emails" comes in, select "view" and check the
"service name" at the lower right of the inbox screen.

I'm guessing that it will say SMS (Short Message Service) which is part
of the cell system and not the same as what most of us consider "email"

It's designed to send text messages from phone to phone and uses the
cellphone number to address messages.

It is "push" and therefore, potentially very valuable as anyone can send
you a "push" message from any text capabable phone or email client.

Assuming your service is verizon, send yourself a short (two line max)
email addressed to your cell number (no dashes or spaces) @VText.com i.e.;

1234567890@VText.com

Now the kicker... you can send and respond to messages that are
addressed by number only (try sending an sms number to yourself) but you
can't (easily) send or reply to messages with an internet address.

I use SMS messeging, this is definitely email being downloaded. It is my
personal email account. This does not happen all the time, but it has
happened several times now. Somehow it is connecting in the background and
downloading my email. Maybe I am somehow accidently pressing the connect
button (I have no idea how that could happen through the case it is in)
