I had just inquired about the new Verizon plans, but I realized that
some of the constraints that Verizon talked about were not due to the
phone, but probably a change in Verizon's policy (like no analog). So
I've just compared the 4400 to the 4650 via Phonescoop. They look
very similar, but the 4650 does have a couple nice additions: More
phone book entries (500 vs 200) and slightly longer battery life. I'm
not clear on a couple things:

Reviews rave about the 4650's speaker phone. Is this referring to
hands-free driving? I'm in NYC, never driving, and almost always
around traffic noise, etc. I'm trying to thing of why I'd need a
speaker phone.

When is push-to-talk better than just having a speed-dial
number? I guess PTT is only active on the VX4700, but if there's
a compelling reason, I'll check into it.

By the way, Verizon just told me *no analog*, but the 4650 *does* list
trimode. Either it's a mistake on Phonescoop or Verizon just doesn't
want to support analog any more (Again, not sure when it would be
needed these days).
