Hello.

I am interested in the Treo 650. Anyone report from someone who
has this phone with VZW? Battery life, OTA Outlook sync, network
connection speed, etc???

cnet.com, and phonescoop.com are two excellent sources of feedback. Not
better than what you will get here, but perhaps faster. I have "two" on
order myself, having previously loved the K7135

The only downside I'm aware of (for existing customers) is that if they had
previously been able to use data for just the cost of minutes, selecting a
PDA (or even replacing a PDA) will likely trigger a separate data plan
requirement. That's all well and good if you understand that going in.

PS: for me personally, the current data prices are insane. Literally more
expensive than starting a separate voice plan. To each their own.

Dan, you are correct, however, a call to CS explaining that you have a PDA
for its PDA convenience (if you remember when PDA's didn't have phone's
built in) and you would like the per-use data that uses your minutes; and
none of this data plan. You will find that this is possible, you just need
to ask for it.

Alternatively: Two "opposite" requirements: 1) You DO NOT want a data plan,
but yet 2)You want national access because you have get-it-now capability.

Those two combinations should get you the original plan you are on. vZW
blames the automatic data plan on the way their computers are programmed;
yet fail to recognize that VZW programmed them that way. dr (who has a Treo
750 scheduled for delivery for me today, and my friend the next day)
(still skeptical of the keyboard, but the graphics and features are awesome,
but accessories are $$$)

Is this what Verizon actually told you ?
Is it possible to get this MOU plan for the Treo 650 in all areas ?

Where did you order your Treo 750 from ?
I've only seen a few pictures of it and it's not on Verizon's web site.

I think what the Dr. is talking about is the same as MOU.

He says: "the per-use data that uses your minutes".

And then he says: "Those two combinations should get you
the original plan you are on".

Otherwise, I think Verizon would be happy to charge you $15/MB
without requiring you to come up with an excuse or explain how
you're going to use your phone :-)

Apologies for typing in the dark: this is a 650 note, and I made a typo: The
Treo 650 is what I have on order. (I have no knowledge of a 750, sorry).

Also, I explained how "I" keep, and recommend to others how to keep, data
per-use on an existing/current vZW line of service; vZW does not "tell me"
how to work around their computer systems or revenue sources. To be fair:
(although vZW is under no obligation to be fair) this is because I/we/they
have had the per-use data on our line(s) already and want to keep it without
paying MORE for less from vZW. It would be un-fair to try this on a new
line of service, as they don't offer that per-use promo anymore. dr

I also liked the flip design of my 7135 but the flip case
for the Treo makes it feel a little like a flip phone too :-)

Maybe they can improve on the case so you can open it just
by snapping your wrist.

I haven't seen a good flip case that gives the look/feel of the 7135 clip.
VZW didn't seem to have near any good accessories. However, I found treo
central awesome,but haven't bought anything yet.

PS: after charging over-night, my 650 went DOA, and a replacement is on its
way. I'm looking forward to it, just need to find the graffiti for it,
spare pens, and read the book, as I'm not comfortable with the navigation.
But the resolution is still awesome! I just need to learn how to use it.
