Hello,
I preordered Tera so I could try the Beta. My friends ran smooth with no issues on medium to high graphics. I couldn't get off the lowest ones before chopiness began. Heres my current rig.

Windows 7 64 bit
Gigabyte Mobo GA-880GM-D2H
AMD Black Phenom II x6 3.2
4 GB Ram DDR3
graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 1GB
duel harddrives one 512 and other 1TB
Samsung Monitor 1900x1200 resolution

Or is it possible internet speed issue. highest in our area is 10mbps.

Heres Tera system requirements:
The MINIMUM system requirements for Tera are as follows:

OS: Windows platform XP, VISTA or 7
Proc: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium 3.20 Ghz
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics Card: Radeon 1600 XT or GeForce 7600 GT
Hard Drive Space: 25 GB (the game itself is presently 23 GB but you really should have a LOT more free for your Paging File/Virtual Memory
Direct X: 9.0c (same as Lineage2)

The RECOMMENDED system requirements for TERA are:
CPU: Dual-core
RAM: 2GB or more
Graphic Card: GeForce 9800 or better
DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c or higher
HDD: 30GB free hard disk space

Im not sure what I need to improve to run smoother. Ideas?

A 520 is not a good gpu, and is probaly slower than the minimum. Look here: to understand where it sits in relation to other cards. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gami [...] 374-7.html
its just under a 7600GT.

Oh wow! My card is way down in that list hehe. Guess I see a new graphics card in the near future.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, a higher first numbr does not always equal better performance, that list is useful though.

or is there something better for about the same price?

not sure, i'm uk based, look at the chart and see what the similar amd card is. You'll have uninstall and reinstall the drivers even if you go from nvidia to nvidia (just to be safe). That sounds like good value, the 560ti is a lot better though.

Looking at newegg and tiger that looks like a really good deal.

Hey this is kinda late but I noticed it was never solved.

is a good card that will out perform the 550ti

Also Tera seems to struggle with AMD CPUs in general. My rig is posted in my sig so you can see what I have. I am playing tera on full graphics without AA at 40-50 fps on field and 25-35 fps in towns. Your CPU being 3.2 GHz will probably work a bit better. Good luck
