Sony Cyber-shot DSCHX7V/W

Gift Ideas For Dad, The Shutterbug
By

Read reviews of the Sony Cyber-shot DSCHX7V/W at Newegg.com

This $299 camera brings us into the upper echelon of point-and-shoots. All of the specifications are a notch above the previous class: 10x optical zoom, 16 megapixel sensor, and 1080i video recording (and HDMI output). Some reviewers have said that images from this camera have the look of DSLR photography. Sony says its camera takes two shots for every click of the shutter and combines them to create a “defocused” background like a DSLR would. Sony also adds in features like 3D image and panorama capability, HDR, and an integrated GPS receiver for location tracking. But functionally, one of the most impressive features of this camera is its speed: from powering on to sequential shots to burst mode, this one is among the most responsive.

So, if this is a review of cameras for a shutterbug photographer, why is your only mentioned Digital SLR the Canon T3... why not mention the Nikon D3100 or the Sony A390L (as they are within the same pricing)?

    Hi PhotoBug82,
Lots of reasons. They're not as new, they're slightly more expensive. Also, as this article is sponsored by Newegg.com, its a guide to shopping at Newegg. Neither of the other two cameras you mentioned is currently in stock at Newegg. Thank you for asking--you'll always get an honest answer from us.
