The Magic Folder is a free desktop gadget designed for Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating system. It provides a file redirection tool that helps users categorize and move files.

This gadget can make your file managing task easier with just a simple drag and drop. Magic Folder mainly helps you categorize and move files in their specified folders on the Windows Explorer. Simply drag the files to the gadget and it will find and placed it automatically into their designated folder. Like for example, doc files such as DOC, XLS, or PPT will be place in document folder and image files like JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF into the Picture folder.

You can also customize the gadget by adding or removing extension recognized and change it to where these files will be placed. You an even add your own folder location and if you do not like file redirection by extension, you can change it to prompt you for the location each time you take an action. In addition, when you click the Magic Folder, you can select from the list of folders and them jump directly o that folder in Windows Explorer.
