Father's Day is quickly approaching, so you'd better decide what Dad needs and wants. We've picked out 3 computers, a bunch of peripherals, and a few geeky surprises.
Braven 625S Bluetooth Speaker
$179.99
As much as we enjoy our computers and various other gadgets, it’s important to get some outdoor time in as well, right? Thankfully, tech and outdoor activities aren’t always mutually exclusive, and the Braven 625S is a perfect example of great gadgetry made with the outside world in mind.
The 625S is a bluetooth-enabled outdoor speaker, and it wants to make your tunes regardless of your proximity to a power outlet. Its 1,700 mAh power supply keeps the two 3W drivers powered for up to 16 hours. The I/O on the side include a power LED, an audio out (which allows you to daisy chain speakers together), and a full-size USB port for connecting AND charging other devices. So long as you have your charging cable handy, the 625S can charge any smartphone, iPhone or otherwise.
While you shouldn’t encourage dad to kick this speaker off a cliff, the 625S is fairly durable, thanks to its rubber exterior. It should survive most drops unscathed, and it comes with a waterproof bag for transport.
Braven is pretty generous when it comes to accessories; in the box you’ll find the speaker, a microUSB to USB cable for charging, a 3.5mm jack for connecting other speakers or headphones, and a small-but-powerful LED flashlight that attaches to the 625S via the USB port.
The Braven 625S is a bit expensive at $180, but its durability and usefulness around the house, backyard and anywhere in the great outdoors makes it a great gift for the patriarch in your house. He finally has a place to listen to his Deep Purple collection: as far away from you as possible.
Love the flask idea.
I would be careful if you're considering purchasing the G-Form Extreme Sleeve Laptop Case. I just watched a review on YouTube about these cases. The guy that reviewed it ended up smashing my screen after dropping his laptop from only 8ft on to the grass! Check out the review here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEW4nUHjG2E
