The complete test was performed by Patrick Imbert but I, Vincent Alzieu, also used this camera for a few weeks. Better still, by pure chance, I got it the evening before the birth of my daughter, Fanny. On September 27, at midday, I was operating three cameras, a Canon G2 which, at 400 ISO, produces very noisy images, that are disappointing when printed, a Nikon Coolpix 5400 which produces too many blurred images at 1/30s, and which are black at 1/60s, and this 300D/Digital Rebel. Well, I was determined to take photos of my daughter as soon as possible. Mother + baby = without flash.
Only the 300D / Digital Rebel enabled me to take the photos without using flash, at 400 ISO, and with a very low noise level and excellent definition at 1/40s. I was thus able to take photos of my daughter during her first five minutes of life. A little retouching was required each time, to adjust levels and saturation, but the result was very satisfactory.
