TomTom One 130 Portable GPS

$99.95 at Staples, according to TGIBlackfriday.com $99.95]

A basic GPS with all the necessities, the TomTom One 130 GPS is all most drivers would need to get virtually anywhere. The high-sensitivity GPS chipset calculates your position quickly, letting you get on the road in less time, and the preloaded maps (with pre-installed points of interest) make getting to your destination painless. Its adequate 3.5" full-color LCD touch screen is easy to view in most lighting conditions. Extras include a Help Me! emergency menu for locating hospitals and an optional service that finds the cheapest gas stations along your route. This older generation (but very user-friendly) GPS is regularly priced at $200, which is high for a more basic model; at the Black Friday bargain of $99 (normally $199), this is a solid deal on a brand-name you can trust.

SanDisk Sansa Express 1GB Digital Media Player

$17 at Circuit City, according to tgiblackfriday.com

Your most basic MP3 player without video won’t cost you much to begin with, but expect to see some stocking-stuffer options for less than $17 (like the SanDisk Sansa Express 1 GB player featured in the Circuit City ad.) This lightweight 1 GB player holds 250 MP3s or 500 WMA files (sorry, no video or photo) and offers an expandable micro SD slot for extra storage. The small but sufficient display and voice recording capability help this stand out against other no-frills players. The included earbuds will probably leave you wanting, but the impressive integrated USB adapter allows you to plug, charge and go – no cables needed! Regularly priced at $45, you can grab several of the $16.99 sale-priced players, without breaking your budget.

SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8GB Digital Media Player

$65 at Toys R Us, according to tgiblackfriday.com

This SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB Digital Media Player is formatted for videos, music, photos and audio books, and has over 40 preset FM radio stations. A bright 1.9” screen puts it on par with Apple-branded models, but without the higher price tag. With an impressive battery life (almost 24 hours) and a fully functioning digital voice recorder, it’s built to travel. Expect to pay no more than $64.99 at Toys R Us, and as little as $59.99 at wholesalers like Costco. (Colors will vary by location, but include black and silver.) Standard sticker price is $100.

For those interested in the MSI Wind Netbook, the one on sale for $349 is the older one with the 3-cell lithium ion battery. That will give you about 3 hours of battery life. The version with the 6-cell battery will cost you back $430.

I did notice that Costco deal for the Sansa, but many people I know don't have memberships already. To buy one, it's $50. (They also don't usually let you use guest passes on Black Friday.) But it's a GREAT deal for someone who already have a club membership (or if you can get a pal to buy one for you.)
