DVD-R and CD-R Spindles

$10 for 100, $16 for 100 at Circuit City and Office Max

This is the perfect time to stock up on spindles of blank CD-R and DVD-R discs for less than the usual price. If you don’t mind going with an unknown name, expect to pay no more than $10 for 100. (Circuit City has Nexxtech-branded CD-R and DVD-R discs for $9.99, regularly $49.99!) For those who want something a bit more brand-worthy, you can snag a 100 pack of TDK 16x DVD-R (Silver) for $15.99 at Office Max, which is the best price we found for this quality.

Western Digital My Book Home 1 TB External FireWire/USB 2.0/eSATA Hard Drive

$150 at Best Buy

We searched Black Friday ads for the single best deal on hard disk drives and found it in Western Digital’s 1 TB external drive at Best Buy. This drive can connect to your Firewire port (400 Mb/s), USB 2.0 port (480 Mb/s) or if you want really fast data transfer, and if your computer is so equipped, your eSATA port (3,000 Mb/s). With our digital cameras, camcorders and broadband connections, we’re all accumulating more and more data, and quickly running out of places to put it all. On top of that is the need for backups, with rudimentary backup programs now built into operating systems and storage now so affordable, it really is time for all of us to start backing up every single bit of our data. This drive normally costs $260.

SanDisk 8GB Cruzer USB Flash Drive w/ Readyboost

$13 at Staples

The SanDisk 8GB Cruzer USB Flash Drive is the perfect combination of form and function, offering Readyboost technology that allows the drive to take over memory storage and improve system performance (on Vista systems, only.) As SanDisk’s fastest USB flash drive (25 MB/s read and 18 MB/s write), the Cruzer has a retractable USB port, which is perfect for users with a tendency to lose caps. The 8 GB Cruzer with Readyboost will be offered at Staples for just $12.99 after easy rebate (regular price $59.99), which is the lowest price we’ve seen on this brand and quality of storage.

For those interested in the MSI Wind Netbook, the one on sale for $349 is the older one with the 3-cell lithium ion battery. That will give you about 3 hours of battery life. The version with the 6-cell battery will cost you back $430.

I did notice that Costco deal for the Sansa, but many people I know don't have memberships already. To buy one, it's $50. (They also don't usually let you use guest passes on Black Friday.) But it's a GREAT deal for someone who already have a club membership (or if you can get a pal to buy one for you.)
