15. Conclusion: Bonsai Laptop For Stressed Wallets

While small and light laptops with a long battery life from A-brand manufacturers such as Toshiba cost between $1,600 and $2,000, Averatec's offering is much less of a strain on the bank account, at just $1,300.
For this price, the customer receives a small, stylish laptop with long battery life and all the features one can expect from a device that weighs only 3.62 lbs with battery. Like its competitors, this laptop has more than enough power to handle typical office applications.

Because of its convincing combination of stylish design, good battery life and good feature set paired with a comparatively low price, we wholeheartedly award the Averatec AV1050 our "Must-Have-Award".
That said, buyers who are certain they will need more than 512 MB of RAM may be forced to buy a more expensive model from the competition. Unfortunately, this remains one of the major drawbacks of the AV1050: neither the hard drive nor the memory is easily upgradeable by the end user, since access to these components is comparatively difficult, and as a result, rather expensive. Still, there's always hope that Averatec will offer a configuration with 1 GB of RAM at some point in the future.
