In addition to being a video player, the Archos product can also record sound thanks to its audio stereo mini-jack input. But the extension port on the side of the device also allows you to add a series of accessories, including a video capture module. The Digital Video Recorder 100 (DVR 100), which was optional in the previous versions but is standard with the AV320, has two video inputs: Cinch and S-Video. Once the module has been connected, the VCR menu becomes active. This means you can record any video source in MP4 mode. You can also use the device as a spare monitor.

Archos also offers a multitude of additional accessories, ranging from a memory card drive to an FM radio tuner. A videocamera module called the AVCam 300 will soon be available. The AV320 will then be able to be converted to a video and stills camera. The 3.3 megapixel photodetector will be connected to a 3x photo lens.
