2. A Flawless Finish
In addition to their sleek designs, the builds of the two iPods are impeccable. The first series of the new iPod Nano had a flaw with the alignment of the screen but this has been corrected. The Touch’s parts were obviously assembled with great care.

The Nano is thinner than ever (left).

The iPod Touch’s Superior Interface
The iPod Touch’s screen is better than that of the smaller Nano and it stands out from its competitors with its completely touch-sensitive screen. The latter is a model that takes a leaf out of the iPhone’s book by being more user-friendly. The menus are clear and intuitive and there is no need to refer to the instruction manual. This feature puts it far ahead of other mp3 players on the market.
Apple’s Flawless Design

The iPod Nano’s Cover Flow Interface
It is impossible to criticize Apple when it comes to its devices’ designs and interfaces. Again, the Nano uses the same system as every other iPod before it. Apple has, however, added a new interface for viewing illustrated covers, photos and videos.
The Cover Flow interface appears for the first time on the Nano. It offers an excellent way to browse through your albums list in a very engaging way. However, what is gained in eye candy is lost in responsiveness. The interface is much slower (and involves more delays) than on previous iPods, although this minor drawback never becomes unbearable.

Using an external headphone with the nano makes a large difference. I use a Ray Samuels Hornet with a set of Grados and you can easily tell the difference between a Apple lossless and 256K AAC or 128K AAC files.

***************************************************************
1: Works flawlessly with my Linksys G router
2: Its "on Hand" when I need a map, etc when watching documentaries
3: Gmail and a Wi-Fi restaurant enable brief travel notes back home without having to use our "Canada" phone at around $2 a minute in the America.
4: Its fun.
5: Typing in - the Google box -- is a bit tough. Otherwise a spell check helps speed text through memo boxes
6: Sennheiser PX-200's (non returnable gift) sound is quite good + with EQ set at R&B (fixes SPL 200hz -2000hz slump)
7: Excellent photo shows
8: Opens the world of Podcasts = Jean Shepherd, Agata Christie mysteries, photography.
9: 8 Gig has enough on-the-go room for "days" of listening.
10: Size is perfect ... I am not sure why the "metal" is not Kevlar, etc to further reduce weight
I could go on. Suffice now to say that this device is just a wonder to use and behold. Another reminder that " we in the West" are so very, very, privledged.
