6. Date Book
The icon 'Date book' is linked to the calendar that features a very intuitive design.
First you get overview for the day. On the very top are the days of the week, and it is quite easy to switch back and forth. Tapping on the bottom left displays the dates by week or month. |
You can enter details for every appointment or event. A very interesting function is the alarm that can be activated if desired. In this example it starts 30 minutes before the meeting. |
Tapping on the time takes you to this menu for setting the time. It is also possible to schedule the whole day or 'No Time'. |
Quite an interesting function is the alarm. This allows you to use the Palm as an alarm clock when you are on business trips. You just schedule an appointment for your desired wake-up time and set the alarm.
Users who exclusively work with Outlook Express cannot synchronize with the date book because the Express version does not have a calendar. However, you can use the Palm desktop software instead. You are in better shape if you use the full version of Outlook that is part of every Microsoft Office Suite. The date book synchronizes the data with the Outlook calendar.
