8. Test Procedure
THG tests the performance of PDAs with the aid of a PDA benchmark utility developed together with our partner company, PC Professionell Deutschland. It measures CPU and 2D graphics performance, and battery life. Our battery life benchmark uses a test script to simulate stylus input to the screen every 30 seconds and so run the PDAs continuously. We adjust all devices to a display brightness of 50 cd/m2, to make sure that the results are comparable. If a particular PDA cannot achieve this brightness, we test battery life using the maximum brightness available.
Benchmark Results
We have included the results for the models from our last PDA group test for comparison.

Thanks to the CPU's Advanced Performance Enhancement mode, which makes caching more efficient, the Mypal A620 leads in this discipline, even if only marginally.

The Mypal A620 outclasses nearly all its competitors as far as 2D display speed is concerned. Only the Ipaq H2210/H2215 can challenge the Mypal A620 in this area.

Battery life, at 5 hours 24 minutes, is a good average but seems disappointingly short in comparison with its predecessor, the Mypal A600, alias Zayo A600PPC.
