5. Other Features

As the specification table shows, the Acer Ferrari 4000 is well equipped. It has an integrated Bluetooth module, as well as an 802.11g WLAN module.

Bluetooth and 802.11g, a winning combination

The front panel features push buttons to enable and disable both Bluetooth and WLAN. I have always liked the way external controls like these make it easy to disable devices without going into a computer's BIOS or operating system.

The 4000 has a built-in slot-load DVD+/-RW drive from Panasonic. The drive is able to read and write in all formats, which is great because you never have to think about what format you received data in. Just load it into the drive and it will work. Another nice feature is that drive is the same side feed style as with the previous generation. This saves having to pop open the tray while cramped in coach class airline seating.

Acer included a 100 GB Seagate hard drive, which they split in two - the first is the system partition and the second is for backing up files.
