3. Under The Hood

Like its previous model year, this Acer Ferrari comes equipped with an AMD 64-bit engine. But unlike sports cars, this Turion is scalable to the power needs of the driver and is also energy efficient.

At full throttle it can run at 1.8 GHz, and it can pull back when there is no need for all the available horsepower. Our test system came with the ML-34. If the system is equipped with the ML-37, it can run at a top speed of 2.0 GHz.

For serious graphics power, it is equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon X700. The GPU core runs at 344 MHz and the memory is set at 358 MHz. With 8 pixel and 6 vertex pipelines, this card can handle any game available. Whether you are multitasking, watching videos, or playing your favorite game during that business trip, the Ferrari 4000 can do it all.
