Stamford (CT) - Hewlett-Packard (HP) has achieved a comfortable lead over its nearest rival in Gartner’s A few years ago, it seemed that there was nothing that could stop Dell from taking over the PC market. 2007, however, was a difficult year for the company, even if the second half brought signs of considerable improvement for Dell: Gartner estimates that Hewlett-Packard shipped about 49.4 million PCs in 2007, capturing a 18.2% market share, which is up from 15.9% in 2006.
