Global TV Growth Slows In Q1
Global TV unit shipment growth slowed in the first quarter of 2008 to just 1% on year compared to 4% growth during the first quarter of 2007 and 5% growth in the fourth quarter of 2007 as a weaker economy in the U.S. seems to be affecting demand of 40"-and-larger size TVs. Severe snowstorms in the first quarter of 2008 in China pushed some Chinese flat panel TV demand into the second quarter, which also affected the results.
