Firefox 3 Website Experiences High Traffic Problems
Some of you may have noticed that it’s been difficult to get to the Firefox website to download Firefox 3, which was pegged for release today.
Mozilla was going for a Guinness World Record for the most downloads inside 24 hours with the launch of the latest version of Firefox and while there were websites around to help you plan your Firefox Download Day Parties and banners urging you to pledge to download Firefox in the day following its launch, many people were skeptical about how the website would deal with all the traffic from all those pledges, not to mention those who didn’t pledge
Well, it looks like not so good. Attempts to break the record, which doesn’t yet exist, have seemingly crashed the website with access being intermittent from shortly after it was launched at 1PM ET.
We tried several times to download FF3 but have been mostly unable to access the site and when we have, have only had the option to download Firefox v2.0.0.14.

Got the download to work after a few tries. So far I like some things and hate others. The way it deals with digital certificates that it thinks are bad is going to be a pain.
using FF 2 right now... no need to update...
=P anyway I tried downloading as the article said... and the site doesn't work at all for me... so w/e

i downloaded it from that link, not sure if it counts towards the record though, so ill download from the record site just to be sure
Managed to download it after 15 minutes or so of trying.
Been using the pre-release version for ages and very pleased with the changes.
Just got home and downloaded it no problems, its looks and feels alot better than before. Still trying it out.
the site : http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/
seems to be up again , with 2,515,864 downloads and counting!
I got if from filehippo
I got it after 5 minutes of trying. It look nice but I didn't use it much yet...
To post this took much longer time...
I was able to download it after a little bit of tries getting the 2.0 download screen. It's pretty nice, minus the fact that the majority of my add-ons are no longer compatible.
It was backed up at first, but after refreshing the page I got it. It's ok, runs a little faster. I'm waiting for Tab Effect to be compatible with 3.0.
I was able to get it about an hour or so ago. I guess I was just lucky. Since I already had RC3(which I accidentally downloaded this earlier in the morning instead of the real 3.0), it didn't really seem to be any different(compared to RC3) but it's a definite improvement over 2.0. I noticed that loading is faster and the buttons are prettier
The new features are nice too. The only issue is that the browser crashes every time I go to yahoo.com...hmm... Good thing I don't go there often anyway.
Working at 2:24 PST 6-17-08
I downloaded it with ease, i think its a lot faster then it used to be with ff2, the only downside i see is that almost all of my add-ons arent yet compatible, so if you need them for something, download it to try the World record but dont install it just yet
yep but there a few bugs with it
i did a report on how to fix 2 of the main ones

I was able to download and install it from the linked site. However, it did wipe out my bookmarks upon installation
I used a Mirror, mozilla.isc.org

Oh but bro...IE7 is SOO bad that it makes me retch my choc chip cookies all over my keyboard.
Then kill yourself as the world doesn't need another sheep like clone like you...
Get a life people...it's call perspective...how about getting excited over world hunger or something useful...like killing off SPAM!
It's a f'n browser!!

(I was also having problems, but here we go..)
got it to download on the first try. i never experienced any heavy traffic problem or anything of the sort. mozilla.com no? it runs great, love the new interface the the resume option
I tried three times to download FF3 from Internet Explorer and it didn't work. First attempt from FF2 downloaded it fine.
No problems downloading Firefox 3 on first try.
I got it around noon PST time today. Was able to get both Windows and Linux versions. I tried at around 10am PST and the site was soooooooooooooo slow. Took awhile tho. I hope they broke the record tho.
Darkk
Got it, I don't like that some of the buttons are a little bit smaller (by a fraction), but I got it to download around 3 I think. I couldn't get through to the world record page, but was able to download it from the regular Mozilla front page.
No problem in downloading it. Tho it was a page with big 'download FF2' button, but below it was a 'star' with FF3 RC3, so i downloaded that and seeing as there was a .js i think the download counted in too.
I manage to download it. But unfortunately, it crashed after installing it. I have to revert back to my version 2.
i waited for the launch time but cant access the site during the time, i slept then i woke up downloaded it with no problems
